Hökensås Nature Reserve

There are plenty of berries and mushrooms, and small lakes to fish or swim in.

Hökensås nature reserve covers approximately 5200 hectares and includes both flat areas and steep ridges. These were formed as the inland ice retreated, and make Hökensås an extremely special environment. In the hollow areas left by the ice, there are around 50 lakes and ponds, of which about 20 are open for fishing. The area is mainly covered with pine forest, and in the driest sections, reindeer lichen creates a carpet covering the soil. Several hiking trails cross the area.
